South Carolina Gamecocks guard Joyce Edwards has vastly improved her game from her freshman year to her sophomore year in the current campaign. With this, it can be presumed that Edwards is ready for more opportunities both on and off the court, especially with her ongoing NIL deals, if she keeps her steady play up until the end of the 2025-26 college basketball season.
According to MARCA, Edwards reportedly signed an NIL deal with Excel Sports back in February of last year. Excel Sports is a sports management agency that works with her teammate Chloe Kitts and Duke Blue Devils star Cameron Boozer. The latest update from Edwards’ NIL valuation also came at the same time, which was reportedly around $626,000.
However, an update for February 2026 has not yet been released. On her On3 profile, Edwards’ NIL earnings are undisclosed. Even her ranking, unlike other women’s collegiate hoops standouts, is not yet determined. Still, it can be presumed that Edwards’ NIL value has increased from last year, and she has received opportunities, such as Fanatics listing her Gamecocks jersey up for public retail.
Currently, Edwards is looking to help coach Dawn Staley‘s team return to the college hoops mountaintop, like they did last year, though they failed to win the 2025 NCAA championship. The 2025-26 Gamecocks have an overall record of 27-2 (13-1 SEC) and are the top seed of the 2026 SEC standings. South Carolina has two games left in its regular season.
Joyce Edwards Reveals How She Is Revolutionizing Her Game For Her Team
In their most recent game, the South Carolina Gamecocks dominated the Ole Miss Rebels by 37 points, 85-48, on their home floor, with Joyce Edwards dropping a game-high 21 points, along with six rebounds, an assist, one steal, and one block in 27 minutes.
During her post-game interview, according to a video posted by ESPN on its official website, Edwards was asked how she is revolutionizing her game now that she is in her second year.
“I feel like just being an all-around player, you know? Even last year, I came in. I scored the ball a little bit, but I knew I wanted to impact the game in other ways. Be more comfortable in taking my time. I mean, a couple of assists, just rebounding the ball, and things like that. You know, I’ve been playing basketball for a while, so it’s nothing like I’m not used to,” Edwards said.
