Angel Reese Drops 5-Word Revelation on Recruiting Notre Dame Star Olivia Miles for Chicago Sky

Angel Reese made her stance clear on whom she wants the Chicago Sky to draft. The 22-year-old WNBA star voiced her opinion on her podcast, “Unapologetically Angel,” naming Notre Dame’s Olivia Miles as her top pick for Chicago.

With the WNBA Draft approaching, Reese also shared thoughts on the competition and how teams are shaping up for the 2025 season.

Angel Reese’s Take on Olivia Miles for Chicago Sky

With UConn’s Paige Bueckers expected to be the No. 1 pick by the Dallas Wings, the selections that follow remain uncertain. ESPN analysts predict that Kiki Iriafen and Azzi Fudd could be the next two selections for the Seattle Storm and Chicago Sky, respectively. However, player stock continues to fluctuate as the season progresses.

During her podcast, Reese told WNBA legend Lisa Leslie that she hopes the Sky selects Olivia Miles when it’s their turn to pick.

“It’s gonna be interesting with picks too because Olivia Miles,” Leslie began.

“We’re trying to get her,” Reese quickly replied.

Leslie acknowledged Miles’ rising draft stock, adding, “I know, but she might up that stock. She might end up at two now.”

Chicago needs a point guard, and with Iriafen playing power forward and Fudd positioned as a shooting guard, Miles stands out as a strong option.

While ESPN previously projected her to be picked by the Washington Mystics at No. 4, her impressive performances this season could push her higher in the draft order. The Notre Dame star is averaging 17 points, 6.3 assists, and six rebounds per game while leading her team to a dominant 22-2 record, including a 17-game winning streak.

This isn’t the first time Reese has openly advocated for Miles to join Chicago. When Miles jokingly asked if she should wear her hair out for a game last month, Reese responded with a playful suggestion.

“Yeah, but only if you color it blue and yellow,” Reese said, referencing the Sky’s team colors.

While focused on strengthening Chicago, Reese also acknowledged how tough the competition will be next season, particularly with Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever.

Indiana made major moves in the offseason, signing WNBA champions DeWanna Bonner and Natasha Howard to strengthen their roster. Leslie pointed out the Fevers’ improvements.

“Indiana has just gotten so much stronger, and they are trying to be contenders now, and they kept Kelsey Mitchell,” Leslie said

“They did, yeah, it’s tough,” Reese responded.

If the Sky can draft a key player to pair with Reese, they have a chance to improve on last season’s struggles. Chicago was on track for the playoffs before Reese suffered an injury, derailing their postseason hopes.

With a new coach and a high draft pick, expectations are higher this year. A strong selection could position the Sky for a competitive 2025 season, with a playoff appearance as the clear goal.
