Caitlin Clark is in the middle of Year 3 with the Indiana Fever. They drafted the two-time AP Player of the Year with the No. 1 pick in 2024. So far this season, they have put up a 16-10 overall record.
On Saturday, Clark, along with her teammate Kelsey Mitchell, helped the Fever rally from a 13-point deficit to secure a 108-88 victory over the New York Liberty. Following this performance, Skip Bayless took to social media with some words of appreciation for Mitchell.
Bayless praised the four-time WNBA All-Star’s scoring prowess and labeled her as a key player for the Fever’s on-court success.
“Kelsey Mitchell is an amazing scorer at just 5-8,” Bayless said. “So fearless, so skilled, so crafty. She justt scored 14 in the 3rd as the Fever took control, she’s making 41% of her 3s this season.
“She, AB (Aliyah Boston) and CC (Caitlin Clark) will make Indiana a contender if they stay healthy.”
Against the New York Liberty on Saturday, Kelsey Mitchell scored 33 points with one rebound and one steal. On the other hand, Caitlin Clark put up 17 points with two rebounds and seven assists. This performance came after the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year’s franchise-record 45-point game during their 110-107 victory over the Seattle Storm on Friday.
During his rookie campaign, Caitlin Clark averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists per game. The Fever finished with a 20-20 record and lost to Connecticut in the playoff first round.
Last season, Clark averaged 16.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg and 8.8 apg. However, she was limited to 13 games due to multiple injuries. In September, she announced that she won’t be returning for the rest of the season. The Indiana Fever made the playoffs once again. But this time, they lost to the Las Vegas Aces in the semifinals.
Caitlin Clark reveals her favorite to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final
Argentina secured a spot in this year’s FIFA World Cup final following a 2-1 victory over England. They will be facing Spain, who defeated France 2-0 in the semifinals.
During a recent press conference, Caitlin Clark revealed that she supported Argentina to emerge as the World Cup winners.
“I’m cheering for Argentina,” Clark said. “I want Lionel Messi, so, I’ll be cheering hard. But it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. But, then, some other things got in the way. But, I’ll definitely be cheering.”
If Argentina can defeat Spain, they will become the first team after Brazil’s 1958 and 1962 victories to be crowned as back-to-back World Cup champions.
The Argentina vs. Spain final will be played at MetLife Stadium on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.
