What Did Kevin Singh Do to Sophie Cunningham? Charges Explored as Court Documents Reveal Fever Star’s “Nightmares”

Authorities arrested an Indianapolis man on Tuesday, June 23, for stalking Sophie Cunningham and sending her explicit and threatening messages on social media. Court documents, via FOX 59, have detained 49-year-old Kevin Singh in Marion County, charged with one count of stalking, one count of intimidation, and one count of harassment, which is a misdemeanor. Meanwhile, the case presents some chilling details.

Several WNBA players have opened up about the online criticism and stalking players are subjected to, especially since the league has recieved increased attention from fans since the arrival of Caitlin Clark. Earlier, Clark was also subjected to similar online threats from a man named Michael Lewis.

The 55-year-old pleaded guilty to stalking the Indiana Fever superstar and sending around 800 threatening messages. The court sentenced him to 2.5 years in the Indiana Department of Correction.

Now, Singh is also charged with similar charges and could be sentenced to prison. The court documents also found that the accused sent a threatening message to a security official at Pacers Sports and Entertainment after he was handed a cease-and-desist letter.

Even though Cunningham earlier believed the messages and threats were just another fan trolling, she realized the impact later, as court documents stated:

“She has been staying in her home more, and she’s been having nightmares… Sophie Cunningham also said she feels like she is always watching her back, doesn’t feel safe and is fearful of Kevin Singh.”

On September 30, 2025, Cunningham recieved a package addressed to “Sophie” at the Fever’s home arena, Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The package allegedly contained a Guns N’ Roses t-shirt sprayed with men’s cologne, along with a letter. Cunningham stated that her team told her about the package and messages to make her “cautious of her surroundings.”

“The internet has made it easier,” Sophie Cunningham’s case’s prosecutor Ryan Mears raises crucial questions

The Fever forward, Sophie Cunningham, is one of the most controversial figures in the league, and her latest altercation on the court against the Phoenix Mercury’s DeWanna Bonner was proof of that. And that has surely led to increased fan scrutiny.

After the suspect, Kevin Singh, was given the cease-and-desist letter, he sent more texts to Cunningham, in which he wrote, via the aforementioned source:

“Not gonna say the things I want to, with these people watching… Your organization literally threatened me with JAIL. Over what?? Because you can’t stop looking at what I post?? Do you have ANY f***** clue what that threat feels like? I can’t go there for ANY reason. Any concert, comedy show… bc (of) you & your F***** UP mental health.

“Yes, I’m in love with you. 1000% That’s never gonna change. You love me; not sure you’re in love. & I am worried that’ll change; so, I’ma make sure it doesn’t.”

The suspect was allegedly earlier charged with one count of stalking. Addressing the issues of stalking public personalities, which sometimes leaves a serious impact on such personalities, Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears wrote in the official press release:

“The internet has made it easier than ever to target, harass and intimidate others. Threats of violence, whether face-to-face or behind a keyboard, will be taken seriously.”

While Cunningham manages off-court issues, the Fever has some things to address on the court. The team will now face the Phoenix Mercury for the second consecutive time after winning the first one, 86-77.
