As tip-off for the Indiana Fever’s first regular season game draws near, Caitlin Clark and Raven Johnson have been showing more and more signs that their professional relationship is off to a great start. Now, the two-time WNBA All-Star is sliding into the comments section of her rookie teammate’s social media posts.
On Wednesday, Johnson went on Instagram to post a series of photos from her recent photoshoot with the Fever. A number of Fever players showered her with positive words in the comments, including her former college adversary.
“Tufff,” Clark commented.
This compliment from Caitlin Clark is just the latest indication that she and Raven Johnson will get along just fine on and off the court.
Fans, of course, couldn’t help but speculate on the dynamic between these two guards. During the 2023 NCAA tournament, Clark (then the star of the Iowa Hawkeyes) went viral during a certain defensive possession against South Carolina court general Johnson. In that sequence, Clark waved off Johnson, as if to say that Johnson wasn’t a threat worth defending.
As fate would have it, Johnson ended up getting drafted by the Fever with the 10th pick in the 2026 WNBA draft. Immediately, there was a buzz about the chemistry (or lack thereof) that could potentially be established by this backcourt pairing.
During a preseason game between the Fever and the Liberty, Johnson and Sophie Cunningham were seen reacting to an apparently witty comment made by CC. From the looks of it, the memories of 2023 are beneath Johnson and Clark at this point.
“Wait for It”: Fever Posts Series of Photos That Tease Dynamic Between Caitlin Clark and Raven Johnson
As if to drive the point home, the Fever’s social media team tweeted a brief photo essay hinting at the relationship between Caitlin Clark and Raven Johnson.
The first two images show Clark barely acknowledging the presence of Johnson, while the third and final image depicts the rookie hugging Clark, who appears to be hesitant to reciprocate.
The Fever captioned this photo essay “wait for it,” which could mean a number of different things. Indeed, Clark and Johnson might be cooking up a strong on-court dynamic that could lead to several wins for the Fever once the season starts.
