This year’s WNBA preseason allowed fans to have a glimpse of Angel Reese going up against her former team, the Chicago Sky. Though there was nothing at stake when the Sky squared off against the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday, the battle of former teammates Reese and Kamilla Cardoso was still a sight to behold.

At one point in this game, Reese brought the ball down the length of the court and decided to challenge Cardoso’s defense. The two-time WNBA All-Star tried to shake off Cardoso with some dribbling moves, but the Sky center held her ground and got the block on Reese.

On social media, fans had a field day with Angel Reese’s rejected layup attempt.

“How does she have negative vertical??”

“She can’t jump and shoots from her hip. You’d think in all the years she’s never fixed that.”

“She let a small fart there”

“She don’t know how to jump lol”

“Imagine being her and trying to make fun of Jalen Duren. Duren would beat her 1000-0 on a day-long game of 1-on-1.”

“it makes her ‘too small’ celebration all the funnier.”

Cardoso had a momentary victory there, but Reese got to celebrate a win later on after the Dream defeated the Sky 87-78. Reese stuffed the stat sheet with eight points, seven rebounds, two assists, and three steals.

This was but a teaser of even more intense action that awaits Dream and Sky fans this season. When Reese gets to have her official “revenge” game against Chicago, more sparks are expected to fly.

The fans inside Wintrust Arena then gave a loud ovation for Reese. Notably, the Dream forward barely acknowledged the ovation.
