The first wave of signings in the 2026 WNBA free agency has seen some of the league’s best players find new homes, while others have returned to their old teams, with some even signing multi-million-dollar contracts enabled by the new CBA, which handed players a pay raise of close to 400%.
Some of the best free agents from this summer have already signed, but several quality players remain on the market, capable of stepping into starting roles or filling out depth for teams looking to contend. Today, we’ll look at the top five remaining WNBA free agents.
Top Remaining WNBA Free Agents
1) Emma Meesseman
Points: 13.4 | Assists: 3.2 | Rebounds: 5.1 (2025)
Meesseman is a former Finals MVP who would bring clear championship pedigree to any roster. She was solid for the New York Liberty last season, but had her campaign cut short by injuries, appearing in just 20 games, including the playoffs.
2) Natasha Cloud
Points: 10.1 | Assists: 5.1 | Rebounds: 3.7 (2025)
Cloud is widely regarded as one of the WNBA’s best perimeter defenders. Moreover, her playmaking ability also remains a highly valued trait, making her one of the top WNBA free agents. Cloud can impact games without scoring, making her a valuable pickup for most teams.
3) Tiffany Hayes
Points: 11.7 | Assists: 3.0 | Rebounds: 3.8 (2025)
Tiffany Hayes does a little bit of everything and can create her own shot. At 36, she might not be worth a max contract, but would be a solid pickup for any team looking to add to its bench depth. Her health remains a concern as she made 26 appearances last season before suffering a series of injuries.
4) Tina Charles
Points: 16.3 | Assists: 1.7 | Rebounds: 5.8 (2025)
At 37, Tina Charles is one of the oldest players in the league, but still produces at a high level, as we saw from her stint with the Connecticut Sun in 2025. She is a menacing presence in the paint, adept at scoring, crashing the glass and defending.
Charles has earned nine All-WNBA selections and four All-Defensive selections in her career and won the MVP award in 2012. While she is past her best, she can still provide valuable minutes playing for a contender or one of the expansion teams.
5) Aari McDonald
Points: 9.8 | Assists: 4.7 | Rebounds: 2.4 (2025)
Aari McDonald signed with the Indiana Fever last season, arriving on a hardship contract after the team lost significant depth in the backcourt due to injuries.
She made a solid impact, showcasing her shot creation and defensive acumen and quickly becoming an established part of Stephanie White’s depleted roster. Her mix of shot creation and two-way impact makes her a valued free agent.
