Chicago Sky fans are criticizing coach Tyler Marsh on social media following his latest media session, where he touched on Rickea Jackson’s role and position on the team.
Marsh said the team will rely on Jackson for scoring and will test her in different positions.
“We want Rickea to score, whether that’s inside or outside,” Marsh said. “That was part of the communication we had upon our first call after the trade and the only question she had was what position she was going to be, I told her she was going to be all five positions. I’m not afraid to experiment from that standpoint and so we are going to try and put her in a number of different positions.
His comments were shared on social media, where fans called Marsh out, with some drawing comparisons to his handling of Angel Reese.
“This man ain’t a serious coach,” one fan said.
“Smh. Ya get rid of this Walmart Akademiks.. talking bout all 5 positions, sound like u tryna smash,” another fan said.
“This ngga here she is not scoring on no 4 or no 5 they should have traded him too,” one fan wrote.
“This clown doesn’t deserve to be employed by this league,” another fan wrote.
“I feel bad for Rickea… this man has no plan for her. Not for her development or utilisation,” a fan commented.
Marsh has been under fire by the Sky fanbase following the team’s poor performance last season. They were tied for the worst record in the league in 2025, going 10-34.
Rickea Jackson expresses excitement after being traded to the Chicago Sky
The Sky acquired Jackson in exchange for two-time All-Star guard Ariel Atkins. The trade was announced on April 11. Jackson reacted to the move on social media with a four-word response.
“Chi town we lit!” Jackson wrote on X.
The forward played 38 games last season, averaging 14.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game, shooting 42.4%, including 34.8% from 3-point range.
Jackson made the All-Rookie team in 2024 and has been considered a standout player with a high ceiling since her arrival in the league.
