‘This Is a Blatant Lie’: Jason Whitlock Pushes Back on Caitlin Clark, Flau’jae Johnson’s Foul Controversy

The Indiana Fever escaped with an 110-107 win over the Seattle Storm on Friday, and as expected, there was another controversy involving Caitlin Clark, this time with Flau’jae Johnson.

There was reportedly a no-call on Clark during the game-winning play as she stole the ball from Johnson and led to her dropping a 3. Soon enough, it sparked several debates on whether or not Clark fouled Johnson on that steal.

One fan took to social media and stated that Caitlin Clark got all of the ball on that steal, so the referees were correct and that there was no foul.

However, that person soon received a reply from former ESPN personality Jason Whitlock, who stated that this was a lie and praised Flau’jae Johnson for not arguing with the referees and playing on, unlike what Clark would have done.

“This is a blatant lie. Had that happened to Clark, the Cult would ask the Supreme Court to intervene. She clearly fouled Flau’Jae and Flau’Jae got up and kept playing. Clark would still be yelling at the refs right now,” Whitlock wrote.

Whitlock also slammed Clark’s fanbase in another post:

Caitlin Clark Talks About Career Game vs. Seattle

It was Caitlin Clark who scored the final five points that sealed the Fever victory. This was also a record game for Clark, who dropped 45 points and 10 assists.

She now also holds the Indiana Fever record for most points scored in a game and spoke about her performance after the matchup.

“I mean, it’s cool. I don’t really care,” she said. “I know what I’m capable of and I know what this team is capable of, and it’s my job to help us win and be the best team in the WNBA and I don’t think we’re there yet. It’s my responsibility to help us get there. We’ll keep working.”

This performance ties A’ja Wilson for the second-highest scoring performance of the season so far.
