“They Watch Angel Reese Not Able To Shoot A F***ing 3”: Kevin Durant’s Brother Delivers Brutal Truth in Passionate Defense of Caitlin Clark Amid 3-Point Struggles

Kevin Durant’s brother, Tony Durant, defended Caitlin Clark on social media, as she is currently facing criticism from fans due to her recent struggles from 3-point range. Clark is shooting 30.3% from long range through the first three games of the 2026 season.

On Friday, Instagram user @michael.j.overs shared a video on the platform, arguing that criticism of Clark is unfair. Overs instead pointed to her production from inside the arc.

“I am sitting here watching Caitlin Clark … the three-ball is not falling,” he said. “She was dicing and absolutely everything the Sparks had to offer inside the 3-point line. Her layup package has taken a step forward.”

Tony Durant reacted to Overs’ video, leaving a comment under the post:

“It’s only the black commentators cuz they want Angel Reese in the convo so bad cuz they think it’s a racial bias for her! They know who gave the league the power it has now, Caitlin Clark!”

“Your grammar is understandable, your reading level is probably lower than my seven-year-old,” Durant told a fan.

After a fan highlighted Clark’s “elite scoring,” Durant replied in the comments section:

“While they watch Angel Reese not be able to shoot a f**** 3.”

Clark’s struggle from the 3-point line goes beyond this season. She has struggled to find her form from long range since the 2025 season, in which she only shot above 40% from 3-point range three times. Granted, Clark played just 13 games that season.

Despite being back to full health, her 3-point shot continues to evade her. She is averaging 25.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 8.0 assists, shooting 41.3% through three games this season.

Scoring efficiency has also been used to criticize Clark’s rival, Angel Reese. She shot 39.1% from the field in her rookie year on 12.3 attempts per night. Reese has faced criticism almost nightly, with fans calling out her poor conversion rate at the rim.

She has shown steady improvement since her rookie year, shooting 45.8% on 11.1 attempts per game during the 2025 season.

Caitlin Clark reflects on shooting struggles after a strong fourth quarter against the Washington Mystics

Friday’s game against the Mystics was seemingly becoming another rough shooting night for Caitlin Clark until the fourth quarter. During the final period of play, Clark knocked down five 3-pointers and hit a last-second shot from long-range to send the game to overtime.

The Fever lost 104-102. Clark finished with 32 points, eight assists and four rebounds, shooting 10-for-28, including 7-for-17 from 3-point range. Speaking to reporters after the game, Clark reflected on how she pushed through her 3-point shooting slump.

“I think I started hesitating a little bit, I’ve probably hesitated a little bit to start the season. And I don’t need to do that. I’m best when I’m just letting it fly,” Clark said. “It was great, though I don’t really care because we lost.”

Clark and the Fever will return to action on Sunday, taking on the Seattle Storm at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indiana.
