Appearing on a live stream on Monday, Connecticut Sun guard Saniya Rivers talked about asserting her rights to disclose details regarding her personal life.
“If it’s my business, whether I tell it or not, that should be up to me. Whoever else is involved in the business of the other party, it should be up to them to disclose said information. That’s how I feel about it. But, no shade, it is what it is.”
For what it’s worth, Williams was seen in a video playfully teasing Rivers’ former teammate Marina Mabrey about being live on TikTok and Instagram “every other day” with someone. In response, a smiling Mabrey chased Williams around the locker room.
Over the past year, Rivers and Mabrey were seen frequently spending time with each other. From staging TikTok videos of dance lessons to throwing out the first pitch at a Red Sox game, Rivers and Mabrey displayed plenty of chemistry off the court, just as they did when they were competing in WNBA action.
Now, however, Rivers is taking a stand about keeping the details of her personal life guarded.

Interestingly, Saniya Rivers was going viral for another reason just last week.
In the third quarter of a Fever-Sun game, with the Fever holding a commanding 95-67 lead, Rivers found herself in a war of words with Caitlin Clark. Footage of the sequence shows Clark saying “Scoreboard, scoreboard” to Rivers right before they get called for double technical fouls.
Clark later revealed that Rivers had tried to taunt her by saying that she’d “lock up” the Fever star. This led CC to retaliate with the “scoreboard” remark.
