“She’s not a soft, cuddly kitty cat” — Analysts Defend Caitlin Clark’s Referee Antics With Michael Jordan Comparison

Caitlin Clark has received criticism for her regular tussles with officials this season. While some believed the league was not protecting her, others felt that referees were giving her extra privilege. Analysts Linda Cohn and Michelle Beadle also expressed their thoughts about the issue.

In her conversation with Cohn on the latter’s YouTube channel on Monday, Beadle expressed thoughts on the change in Clark’s on-court personality:

“I think her showing the world that she’s not a soft, cuddly kitty cat, she doesn’t need your help, she’s kind of a dick on the floor, she yells at refs. Like, she’s not that girl; she’s not that likable little girl. Let her live, and that will just sort of even out after a little while.”

Meanwhile, Cohn suggested that every superstar who has done something exceptional in sports had this trait of arguing:

“People that rip her because she’s whiny. Hello, Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, Sidney Crosby, what do they all do great? First of all, they are all great, greatest, amazing, GOATs, right? They all complained to the refs, they all worked the refs.”

Clark has been in constant tussles with her rival players, often physical as well. Moreover, she has recieved seven technical fouls.

Analysts and fans have been divided over Clark’s on-court play and conduct.

ESPN analyst demands more “accountability and awareness” from Caitlin Clark

After the WNBA All-Star Weekend came to an end, ESPN analyst Monica McNutt expressed her thoughts on Caitlin Clark’s emotional remarks about how fans and players treat her. Clark said that she had thick skin, but she was as human as anybody else and felt every emotion.

    McNutt said:

“This is what I will say. Caitlin Clark is 24. She is a shining star in the galaxy of the WNBA. But I do think as she continues to matriculate through this league, there’s room for a little bit more accountability and self-awareness in terms of her role in the larger sisterhood, if she sees it that way, in the WNBA.”

Caitlin Clark and the Fever will now get back to focusing on their regular season and continue the consistency they have recently shown. The team will face the Seattle Storm on Tuesday.
