As the Indiana Fever escaped Friday’s showdown against the Seattle Storm with a three-point win, Caitlin Clark delivered a career-high performance with 45 points and 10 assists, along with two rebounds, four steals and two blocks.
This is now the first time anybody has scored over 40 points and 10 assists in a single game in WNBA history.
The Fever also took note of Clark’s historic performance with a post on Instagram.
This soon had several women’s basketball personalities sharing in her success, with Fever teammates Raven Johnson and Lexie Hull, as well as former Iowa teammate Gabbie Marshall, taking to their respective Instagram stories to celebrate.

The Fever needed that 110-107 win, especially with star center Aliyah Boston out with an injury, and Clark certainly stepped up, though she had a bit of a slow start. She started playing aggressively in the second quarter, but it was a very close game and went down to the wire.
The Fever are now 15-10 as they keep their playoff hopes alive, while the Seattle Storm continue their struggle, going 6-21 for the season.
Makayla Timpson and Head Coach Tiffany White Talk About Caitlin Clark’s Record Game Performance
During the postgame, Caitlin Clark also received some love from her head coach, Stephanie White, who told reporters that she noticed something different about her star player.
“She seemed lighter,” White said. “She seemed positive. She seemed bouncy. I think she felt good.” White then noticed during the game that Clark’s balance, in particular, felt better — especially on her shots.”
Clark was 11-18 from the field and 6-10 from behind the arc that night, and she was also responsible for several crucial shots, including the two free throws that sealed the win.
Meanwhile, teammate Makayla Thompson also had something to say about the star guard’s performance to reporters during the postgame.
“Just greatness right here, you know what I mean?” she told reporters. “She does some crazy stuff out there.”
Kelsey Mitchell added 30 points and one rebound for the Fever, while Monique Billings had 16 points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block in Friday’s win.
