Olivia Miles has made a solid case for the WNBA’s Rookie Of The Year award with several clutch performances for the Minnesota Lynx in the absence of the team’s star player, Napheesa Collier.
The former TCU point guard recently hit another milestone in her young career, joining the likes of Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese. Miles became the first rookie to win Player of the Week honors since 2024 after her performances against the Mercury, Valkyries and Storm. She averaged 22.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game in the three-game stretch.
WNBA fans expressed their excitement for Miles’ rare achievement on Instagram.
“She is the moment,” one person commented.
“Love to see the rookies thrive,” another user said.
One fan crowned Miles the Rookie of the Year, saying, “The real number one pick. roty”
“All star,” another fan commented.
“Although its VERY early in her WNBA career, she’s my favorite hooper of ALL-TIME”, one fan opined.

Cheryl Reeves details Olivia Miles’ draft process
While Azzi Fudd was widely expected to be the No. 1 pick in the 2026 draft, the Lynx took Miles off the board with the second pick. Amid the rookie’s impressive stretch, Cheryl Reeves revisited the drafting process:
“What I said on draft night is that there were two players that had generational skills, I would now classify her(Miles) as a generational talent… I think it’s really easy to identify great passing because there’s not a lot of players that are great at it so instinctually so. (@adukemn)
Reeves pointed out Miles’ ability to play as a pure point guard as the differentiating factor between her and Azzi Fudd, whom the Lynx head coach called an “incredibly valuable” player as a scorer.
Olivia Miles’ Lynx will face Azzi Fudd and the Dallas Wings on Tuesday in the Commissioner’s Cup.
