WATCH: Angel Reese Turns Heads in Pink Mini Dress at WNBA All-Star Weekend

As Angel Reese knows, the WNBA All-Star Weekend is afoot, and the ceremonial weekend will have historical significance. As such, how one dresses at the event could send a message for years to come. Reese, known for stealing the spotlight on the court, managed to do the same thing during the WNBA All-Star Weekend. Reese didn’t have to say a word.

A video clip posted by the official WNBA social media account on Friday showed Reese in an all-pink look. Wearing a smile on her face, Reese wore a pink dress with a pink purse to go with her pink hair and pink heels. The account compared her to Barbie.

“A Barbie is in the house 💕 Angel Reese popped out at tonight’s events!” the WNBA posted.

According to a Wednesday post from The Sporting News, Reese will not start Saturday’s All-Star Game. She will instead be Team Spoon’s Top Alternate. Reese finished eighth in All-Star voting with 681,500 votes.

The total trailed the No. 1 voted player, Paige Bueckers, by a margin of nearly 400,000 votes. Reese also trailed Caitlin Clark, who finished second, by a margin of roughly the same number.

Angel Reese’s Pink Outfit Debuts with Barbie Collaboration

Angel Reese didn’t appear at All-Star Weekend dressed like a Barbie by accident. The WNBA star, who carried the nickname “Bayou Barbie” at LSU, now also has a Barbie with a similar look. Reese spoke about the new doll via a Friday post by USA Today.

“I really wanted to have a Barbie doll one day and to have a Barbie, you got to be iconic. You have to do some real things,” Reese said. “I knew it was going to take some time because there’s so many great women that are Barbie dolls and they have their own doll, but I knew that’s what I wanted. And I spoke that into existence.”

So, the doll exists for diehard Reese fans who want a unique collector’s item unlike perhaps anything else in their existing sports memorabilia display. One can only wait to see if her marketing choice was enough to move significant numbers of the product.

Fans looking to watch Reese play can tune in to the WNBA’s All-Star Game starting at 6:30 pm EST on Saturday on ABC and Disney+.
