Lexie Hull Faces Awkward Moment As Fox Reporter’s Question About Indiana Fever Players’ Stereotypes Raises Tension In Interview

Lexie Hull faced an awkward moment when discussing the Indiana Fever during an interview with Fox News’ Jackson Thompson.

During their conversation, Hull discussed multiple subjects, expressing her views on the increased scrutiny players face on social media, citing how fans sometimes cross the line.

“There’s just so much scrutiny,” Hull said. “People have opinions online, and, unfortunately, that’s part of the job and the role that we play.”

“When things get blown out of proportion … When there are personal attacks on people’s characters, that’s when it’s over the line.”

Thompson also asked Hull for her thoughts on whether there are any stereotypes about the Indiana Fever. She took a pause and replied:

“I think people want to win … There are 156 people, competitors, people that are fighting for their teams. I think that’s what it comes down to.”

Lexie Hull became an established part of Stephanie White’s rotation with the Fever last season. She played 44 games, starting 30 due to the team’s extended injury list. Hull averaged 7.2 points and 3.4 rebounds, shooting 36.7% from 3-point range. Her effort and impact on both ends were appreciated by fans and critics alike.

The Indiana Fever moves to retain Lexie Hull in free agency

According to multiple reports, the Indiana Fever extended Lexie Hull a restricted qualifying offer on April 7. Hull, who finished her four-year rookie contract with the Fever in 2025, is a restricted free agent this summer.

While Hull is free to negotiate with other teams, Indiana will have the chance to retain her. If the guard signs an offer sheet with another team, the Fever will have the chance to match the offer and retain her.

Hull was a key contributor in the Fever’s run to the WNBA semifinals last season. The team has indicated that it wishes to retain its core for next season, and locking down Hull could be the first step.

Additionally, Indiana has also extended a core qualifying offer to Kelsey Mitchell, who led the team in scoring last season, averaging 20.2 points and 3.4 assists per game.
