Caitlin Clark’s No. 11 Ranking Labelled ‘Insulting’ by Stacey Dales as She Checks David Dennis Jr. on ‘Top-4 Guard’ Take

Since the WNBA released the final rankings for the 2026 WNBA All-Star lineup, many analysts have questioned the outcome, especially for Caitlin Clark. Her 11th spot in the players’ ranking came as a surprise to many, including analyst Stacey Dales. She expressed her disbelief at the results and stated that Clark didn’t deserve to be that low among her fellow players.

During her appearance on ESPN’s First Take, Dales delved into the All-Star voting and highlighted that only 85 of the 180 players in the pool were voted for, which accounts for 25% of the weightage in the final selection. She said:

“It is insulting. It is preposterous. … Caitlin Clark is exceptional, she is extraordinary, she is elite, she is incredibly difficult to defend, she plays on extraordinary angles both with and without the basketball, And she is very unpredictable, I will tell you, defensively.”

Besides the players’ rankings, Clark was ranked second in fans’ votes and third by the media panel. The Indiana Fever guard has faced several issues on and off the court since the start of the season, but Clark is still one of the most popular names. Her 11th-place ranking among WNBA players is bound to spark several arguments in the WNBA world.

Is Caitlin Clark’s presence becoming an issue for the Indiana Fever?

Caitlin Clark is one of the league’s elite guards, but her fit with the Fever and head coach Stephanie White’s offensive strategies has come under scrutiny. In the past five games, the team has only won the ones without Clark on the roster. Once again, against the Mercury, the Fever looked comfortable, with Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston taking up the scoring duties.

Clark’s replacement, Tyasha Harris, also showed up, especially in clutch when the team needed some go-ahead buckets. Nine of her 15 points came in the fourth quarter, when she shot 4-for-5 from the field.

The Fever’s game against the LA Sparks on Wednesday, in which Clark played but struggled on offense. Her back issues don’t seem to be fine for now; Clark would need to be running as soon as possible to tackle her shooting woes before the season reaches a crucial stage.
