Off the court, Sophie Cunningham has gotten her podcasting venture up and running, proving her mettle as a on-air personality. Now, the Indiana Fever guard is set to bring her gift of gab to another platform as she takes on the role of contributor to USA Network’s WNBA coverage this season.

While some of Cunningham’s fans might fear that they have seen the last of their favorite player in action, Fever beat writer Scott Agness clarified that Cunningham’s career as a WNBA player is very much alive and kicking.

“For those asking, this TV opportunity for Sophie Cunningham is in addition to playing. Like Caitlin Clark with NBC and Draymond Green and TNT,” Agness tweeted on Tuesday.

Sophie Cunningham’s supporters, of course, will take any opportunity to see her do what she loves to do.  The 29-year-old Fever guard has not seen action since tearing her MCL last August.

Despite the injury, Cunningham endeared herself to the fanbase in Indianapolis, winning them over with her hustle on the court. On top of this, Cunningham famously stood up for Fever superstar Caitlin Clark during a particularly physical game against the Connecticut Sun in June 2025.

Now, Cunningham will get to raise her profile even more as she brings her insights to the USA Network’s coverage of the 2026 WNBA season.

Will Sophie Cunningham Remain With the Fever? Analyst Offers His Speculations

While Sophie Cunningham is expected to return to action this year, the unpredictability of the offseason could lead to her joining another team, if she decides to explore her options.

Last week, Robin Lundberg of Sports Illustrated offered his speculations on Cunningham’s fate.

“The question of whether she returns to Indiana now likely becomes a monetary one…Cunningham’s place on the roster likely comes down to what kind of raise Indiana can give her versus what she might garner on the open market.”

Lundberg did acknowledge that Cunningham has quite a lot to offer to the Fever, including “three-point shooting and toughness to the floor.”
