Sophie Cunningham was on a mission against the Las Vegas Aces, scoring 20 points in 23 minutes and making six of her seven three-pointers. After news of the upcoming launch of her new PE with Adidas came out, fans and others began to express their opinions on whether the forward was deserving enough. And now, it seems they have one more thing to talk about: her confrontation with Justine Pissott.
During the game, at one point, the Indiana Fever forward seemed to come face-to-face with Pissott, as the Aces forward stared her down and Cunningham tried to wave her off. However, fans noticed the moment and started speculating about the reason behind this silent confrontation.
Pissott was drafted by the Fever this year with their 25th overall pick, but could only make it to a developmental spot. However, the Aces recognized her potential and turned it into a standard contract that the Fever management decided not to match. The stare-down could be a way to show defiance to her former team, as one user wrote:
“Do Justine and Sophie have beef we didn’t know about??”
Another user was convinced that there might be some locker room drama involved in this:
“There are reasons Fever didn’t make her an offer. You don’t know what goes on in locker rooms.”
One more user wondered:
“why she acted like they weren’t team mates few days ago”
This user raised a question about the legitimacy of the claim:
“Why you think being competitive has anything to do with beef like have you played the game before”
One more user believed that everything wasn’t fine in the locker room earlier:
“I don’t know why but Stephanie White’s interview about Justine gave me a vibe that she was not a great locker room player”

Though Pissott began her season with a bang, bursting for 17 points and shooting 85.7% from the field, she couldn’t do much against her former team, the Fever. She could score just two points in 14 minutes. Meanwhile, Cunningham is known for her physical plays as an enforcer, which often get her into altercations with players.
Sophie Cunningham Channeled Her Caitlin Clark Energy
Though Caitlin Clark is going through a rough patch, shooting the ball, Sophie Cunningham couldn’t miss from the 3-point range. She made six triples in the game and took it far away from the Aces. Meanwhile, Clark scored 12 points, seven rebounds, and six assists and shot 1-5 from deep.
On the other hand, A’ja Wilson scored a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds but could not land another win. The Fever will now look to add to their winning run against the Golden State Valkyries on Wednesday.
