WNBA stars DiJonai Carrington and Jackie Young sparked dating rumors on Tuesday after both players shared a similar picture on their Instagram accounts, showing the scene of a skyline at sunset.
Fans did not take long to correlate the pictures and speculated whether this was a coincidence or a “soft launch” from Carrington and Young. The Lynx guard kept the buzz going on Wednesday after she shared a LeBron James reference on her Instagram.
Carrington shared a photograph of James and wrote a message on top, one that has become synonymous with memes made using the NBA legend’s likeness.
“Smiling through it all! Can’t believe this my life,” Carrington wrote.
Carrington shared another post on her IG story, expressing how happy and full of life she has been lately.
Carrington was previously in a relationship with NaLyssa Smith. The pair started dating in 2021 and separated in late 2025. Smith and Jackie Young are teammates on the Las Vegas Aces.
Carrington is coming off a difficult season in the WNBA. She started her campaign with the Dallas Wings but was traded to the Minnesota Lynx mid-way through the season. She played 31 games, averaging 9.8 points and 4.0 rebounds per game, last suiting up in September.
Young, meanwhile, was a key contributor for the 2025 WNBA champions, the Aces. She played 44 games, averaging 16.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. NaLyssa Smith proved key for the Aces, providing the team with valuable minutes in the postseason.
Neither Young nor Carrington has publicly acknowledged the rumors of their alleged relationship.

NaLyssa Smith reacted to the rumors suggesting that her ex, DiJonai Carrington, is dating her teammate, Jackie Young. Shortly after the similar photographs shared by Carrington and Young were posted on social media, Smith made a post of her own.
She reacted by writing, “🤣,” but has since deleted her post.
Smith will be a restricted free agent this summer. Meanwhile, Carrington and Young will be free to sign with any team of their choice as unrestricted free agents.
