    Did Arike Ogunbowale Punch a Man in the Face? Assault Case Against WNBA Star Explored After Arrest

    Arike Ogunbowale and Co. won the final of the women’s Unrivaled league against the Phantom 80-74 after Breanna Stewart led the Mist to the championship. However, the winning celebrations seemed to have gone a little too far, as the Dallas Wings guard reportedly punched a man in Miami and was arrested for her act.

    NBA analyst Andy Slater shared the news on X about the arrest of the 4-time WNBA All-Star in Miami and wrote:

    “WNBA All-Star Arike Ogunbowale was arrested on Thursday while celebrating her team’s Unrivaled basketball championship at Club E11EVEN in Miami.
    Police sources tell me she punched a man in the face and he fell to the ground.
    It was also caught on camera.”

    As per sources, just before 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, Ogunbowale allegedly punched a man while out with teammates at Club E11EVEN. It was reported that she was charged with misdemeanor battery and released after posting a $1,000 bond.

    The 2-time WNBA All-Star MVP scored 19 points in the final game. The league also released a statement regarding the incident.

    After Arike Ogunbowale was arrested for punching a man in Miami, a video of the Wings guard was shared on X, where she was seen partying with other WNBA stars and the Dallas Wings rookies, Paige Bueckers and Aziaha James.

     

    Ogunbowale was drafted fifth overall in 2019 by the Dallas Wings. The WNBA is yet to react to the issue.
