Conflicting Accounts of Klay Thompson Being Booed at Dallas Wings Game After Breakup With Megan Thee Stallion Surface

Now that the WNBA season is in full swing, Dallas is the Wings’ city till further notice. Though the Mavericks have long been out of action, one of their most recognizable faces decided to pull up to College Park Center this weekend.

Interestingly, there are conflicting reports regarding the reception that Klay Thompson received as he watched the Wings in action. According to some netizens, Thompson was booed; one account even claimed that the arena DJ played a song by his ex Megan Thee Stallion in this situation.

Meanwhile, in a clip posted by the WNBA, no boos are heard as Thompson is shown in the camera. As a matter of fact, one of the commentators even notes that there is a “big round of applause” for the Mavs guard.

It’s possible, of course, that the netizens and the commentator were referring to different points of the game. In any case, Thompson was recently part of a breakup that was polarizing among netizens.

After several months of dating, Thompson and Megan Thee Stallion (a Houston native) called it quits, with the hip hop star making the announcement about their breakup on social media. Some fans sided with Megan in this situation, while others spoke in defense of Thompson during the aftermath.

This Saturday night matchup in Dallas marked the first public sighting of Thompson since the breakup. His choice of venue for this reemergence is interesting, to say the least.

There was no denying, however, that the crowd inside College Park Center was beside themselves with glee at the end of the Wings-Sky game.

Paige Bueckers had 19 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists as Dallas overcame a 14-point second half deficit to pull off a 93-92 victory. After the game, Bueckers admitted that she was still in a state of shock.

“I don’t have words…I can’t believe we just won that game.”

Li Yueru converted on two free throws to give the Wings the lead for good. It was the first time they were in the driver’s seat all game long.
