Caitlin Clark was born in Des Moines, Iowa to a family of sports fanatics. She had keen interest in multiple sports. She played softball, volleyball, soccer, tennis and golf before actually focusing on basketball. She was an Iowa fan through and through from the start.

There are multiple stories about Clark being way ahead of her age group and playing against elder boys. She only grew her talent over the years and then completely dominated college basketball for Iowa. A true Iowa fan giving her heart out to win for Iowa.

Although already mentioned before, Caitlin Clark recently shared which WNBA she used to support growing up. In a recent episode of Candace Parker and Aliyah Boston, Clark appeared as a guest and talked about multiple things. One of which was what team she supported and who inspired her the most.

Geno Auriemma’s UConn legend Maya Moore was her favorite player and her favorite team was Minnesota Lynx. She shared at 55:15, “So obviously it’s like the closest team to the state of Iowa. So like that’s just like was the natural draw. It obviously didn’t like hurt me that they were amazing too. Like that was just an easy team to root for and my first jersey was actually Rebecca Brunson.  So that was my first jersey.”

“It was because I got it for free. I probably like obviously love Rebecca Brunson, but like I wanted a Maya Moore jersey. I’m just going to be honest. Love Rebecca Brunson, don’t get me wrong. I loved the jersey. Wanted the Maya Moore jersey,” she added.

Caitlin Clark remembers watching her first WNBA game live

Clark used to go to watch Lynx matches with her father. She recalled how the first game she watched was Lynx vs Strom. Sue Bird and Maya Moore were on the peak of their powers at the time.

She gave a shoutout to all Lynx legends from that time – head coach Cheryl Reeve, Maya Moore, Sylvia Fowles, Seimone Augustus and Rebekkah Brunson.
