The player famous for hitting Caitlin Clark, Chennedy Carter, has signed on to a training camp deal with the Las Vegas Aces. She missed last season after several instances of misconduct and questions about her fit within team cultures. The defending champions have tried to bolster their championship squad this offseason, re-signing key players like NaLyssa Smith and Dana Evans and adding more frontcourt depth with Stephanie Talbot and Brianna Turner.
Fans seemed excited by the idea of Carter joining the defending champs, but were intimidated by the kind of team the Aces have become in the upcoming season. Adding her to an offensive generator like A’ja Wilson is bound to make the Aces set for a title run. One fan pointed to her last year’s incident with Caitlin Clark and said:
“Demon home nigga Caitlin Clark getting belt belt.”
Another fan highlighted the strength that the Aces have built for the next season and wrote:
“This is the greed they talk about in the bible. A’ja, Jacky, Chennedy, and Chelsea on the same team? It’s over for everyone.”
Another user referred to Carter’s earlier incidents with several teams and stated:
“Aces locker room is going to be interesting”
One more user was frustrated and joked about the Aces going back-to-back and wrote:
“Yeah they goin back to back”
Another user welcomed the former Sky guard back to the league and wrote:
“Great to have Chennedy back in the WNBA, she’s a great player and the Aces just became favourites!”

Carter was drafted fourth overall in 2020 and was touted as one of the talented picks that season. However, her WNBA career has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride thus far. She was picked by the Atlanta Dream and averaged 17.4 points in her rookie year. She also became the youngest player in the league’s history to drop a 30-point game.
However, Carter was kicked out for “actions detrimental to the team” in 2021 by the Dream’s management. She then joined the LA Sparks for the next season, but the issue persisted, as she was again flagged for her behavior. She was benched for an extended period due to the coach’s decision, which led to her move to the Chicago Sky.
Carter had a career year in 2024, as she averaged a career-best 17.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.1 steals. However, later, she was again caught up in another controversy, as she shoulder-checked the superstar Caitlin Clark during an Indiana Fever regular-season game against the Sky in June 2025.
What happened with Caitlin Clark and Chennedy Carter?
It was the third quarter of a game between the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky when Carter decided to shoulder-check Caitlin Clark after scoring a bucket over her. The incident was discussed heavily among WNBA fans, and the rookie Clark faced several similar incidents.
The Indiana Fever has collected a squad to aim for the title in the upcoming season. Moreover, the kind of firepower the Aces now have, it wouldn’t be easy for Clark and Co. to overcome the experience of A’ja Wilson. The rivalry will be fun to watch for fans.
