A’ja Wilson led the Las Vegas Aces past the Toronto Tempo 109-83 on Monday with 26 points, six rebounds and four assists.
After the game, Wilson commented about how Toronto fans treated and welcomed her. She was surprised by the reception she received.
“Incredible, I’m not even gonna lie. It kind of stunned me a little bit just the love that I received. People have my shoes, people have my jerseys. They were screaming my name,” Wilson said.
“And it’s like this is just the beginning for Toronto when it comes to women’s game. And so, to see the support that they’ve poured into the Tempo, it’s been incredible to watch. I was kinda shook by it honestly. It’s our first time here, playing here, but it doesn’t come by any surprise. I think it was just the moment of time, that people needed to come out and celebrate these women. So, continue Toronto. This is good. This is big,” she said.
