The Connecticut Sun will look to avoid their first three-game skid of the new season when they face the Las Vegas Aces on Wednesday night. Connecticut dropped a pair of games in New York and at home against Seattle, scoring 157 points across the two losses.
Now they’ll face an Aces squad that has won one and lost one and will likely have a little extra jump, as they remain unbeaten in their last eight meetings against the Sun.
After a season-opening 66-99 collapse at the hands of the Phoenix Mercury, the Aces bounced back with a 108-75 win over the LA Sparks on Sunday. Kennedy Carter led the team in scoring with 22 points and two steals, while Jackie Young added 20 points and nine assists, and A’ja Wilson had 19 points, four rebounds and three assists.
The Sun, meanwhile, opened the season with a 106-75 loss to the Liberty and went on to suffer an 89-82 loss to the Seattle Storm at home. Aneesah Morrow led the team in scoring off the bench with 17 points and 16 rebounds against the Storm, while Brittney Griner had 16 points and Diamond Miller added 13 points.
Just as hungry as the Sun are to get their first win, you better believe the Las Vegas are just as desperate for every game in the standings they can get. The team is just beginning to click, and they will look to continue to build on this kind of success and avoid a slow start like they had last season.
