Following a 7-6 finish in 2023 that ended with a 35-31 loss to LSU in the ReliaQuest Bowl, the Wisconsin Badgers hope to find some relief this fall. The Badgers start the season against a MAC team for the second consecutive year, kicking things off against Western Michigan after beating Buffalo at the beginning of last year. They’ll then host South Dakota State before closing out their non-conference slate against Alabama. The Badgers are 1-1 against the Crimson Tide, losing the last matchup in 2015.
To start Big Ten play, the Badgers will face the USC Trojans, a new opponent in the conference. Lincoln Riley’s team is one of four Pac-12 teams joining the Big Ten, alongside the Washington Cougars, Oregon Ducks, and UCLA Bruins. Wisconsin won the last time out against USC, beating the Trojans in the 2015 Holiday Bowl.
The Badgers host Oregon six games later, a team that beat the Badgers in the 2020 Rose Bowl.
