Pete Carroll has another head coaching job, this time with the Las Vegas Raiders. ESPN reported that the Super Bowl winner inked a three-year deal with a fourth year as an option.
Peter Carroll Was a Super Bowl Winner With the Seattle Seahawks
Carroll coached the Seattle Seahawks from 2010 to 2023, leading them to one Super Bowl and losing another to the New England Patriots.
When the Seahawks let him go on Jan 11, 2024, he had a 137-89-1 record in Seattle. He stayed in an advisory role with the Seahawks to complete his deal but had been exploring other avenues.
Before his time in Seattle, Carroll had stints with the New York Jets (1994) and the Patriots (1997-99), as well as the USC Trojans (2001-2009), where he won a national title.
The Raiders are a team coming off a fourth-place finish in the AFC West, where they went 4-13.
Their quarterback situation was a revolving door that saw Gardner Minshew go 2-7, Aidan O’Connell 2-5, and Desmond Ridder 0-1.
There are rumors that Carroll may reunite with QB Russell Wilson, a free agent after his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Las Vegas was the 29th-ranked team in points scored in the NFL. They are also in the same division as the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, and Denver Broncos, which is not exactly an easy place to be, as the Chiefs are on a quest for their third straight Super Bowl.
