Former US Open champion Juan Martín del Potro recently played an exhibition match in Moldova, where his physical appearance took the spotlight. The Argentine walked onto the court wearing a black brace on his right knee. He teamed up with rising star Lia Belibova to play a mixed doubles exhibition on the new center court against Simona Halep and Radu Albot. Halep and Albot ended up winning 6-4, 2-6, [10-7].
Several videos from the exhibition bout have emerged, showing Del Potro struggling to move and change direction. However, tennis fans expressed support for the Argentine and urged people to stop mocking him.
When a few compared the legend with Novak Djokovic, one fan wrote:
“Huh? Deeply hurt, retired for a long time, it’s already a miracle that he can still play and move like that. The comparison is pointless, I think.”
Someone wrote:
Yes, but Djoko hasn’t had all the serious injuries that Delpo has had…
One user wrote:
For the record, Juan is gonna suffer with his knee for the rest of his life. So yeah personally that doesn’t make me laugh
Another person wrote:
He’s been retired for four years, leave him alone

Juan Martín del Potro has his home ransacked
Juan Martín del Potro’s home was ransacked earlier this month by a group of burglars. They broke into Del Potro’s home in Tandil, Argentina, and swept through most of the house, pocketing cash, jewelry, and medals. Del Potro’s mother was reportedly the first to arrive at the scene and immediately called the authorities.
Two Chilean men have been arrested in connection with the incident. The group was apparently a part of a South American crime ring that targeted numerous high-profile athletes in the United States and in South and Central America.
