Elite tennis action continues its raging run across Europe as Ben Shelton is all set to square off against Daniel Altmaier in the Round of 16 at the Hamburg Open, alongside America’s Tommy Paul, who will take on Tomas Martin Etcheverry. The Round of 32 action promises a strong run at the Internationaux de Strasbourg, as England’s Emma Raducanu will go up against France’s Diane Parry.

Elsewhere at the Geneva Open, Casper Ruud will face America’s Jenson Brooksby, while Canada’s Leylah Fernandez will battle Poland’s Magdalena Frech in Strasbourg.

Let’s look at what each individual is set to bring on the red clay and who is expected to emerge victorious.

Top Tennis Picks and Best Bets

Emma Raducanu vs. Diane Parry: (Raducanu -125)

In the Strasbourg Round of 32, Emma Raducanu will face Diane Parry in their second meeting, as Raducanu leads their head-to-head with a 1-0 record. While Parry comes in with her Paris title win on the ITF circuit, Raducanu is making a comeback after enduring a prolonged illness that put her out of action for two months. The former US Champion was last seen in action during the Indian Wells, where she lost to Amanda Anisimova in 6-1, 6-1.

Known for her one-handed backhand, Diane Parry is one of a kind in play, proven in Paris, but is set to go up against the Brit’s tough baseline aggression. If Parry can successfully use the clay surface to generate heavy top-spin to disrupt Raducanu’s rhythm during the early rounds, she will have a chance, but with Raducanu’s time off that allowed her space to practice, alongside her latest reunion with her US Open coach, Andrew Richardson, the Brit has a heavy chance to secure a win in 3.

Ben Shelton vs. Daniel Altmaier: (Shelton -275)

The Hamburg Open will see Ben Shelton take on the German favorite, Daniel Altamier, in their first-ever clash. Shelton recently outlasted Marcos Giron 6-3, 4-6, 7-6(3), his first win since his Munich title win, helping prove his clay-court pedigree strong after a string of exits, specifically from Madrid and Rome.

Known for being a baseline specialist, Altmaier will look forward to dragging Shelton to grueling rallies on the clay to take advantage of the American’s lightweight endurance. However, the second-seeded Ben Shelton has an explosive first-serve game plan and a great forehand that have helped him bag multiple wins, and if he can avoid unforced errors, Shelton can take the win in straight sets.

Tommy Paul vs. Tomas Martin Etcheverry: (Paul -220)

America’s Tommy Paul will square off against Argentina’s Tomas Marton Etcheverry in their third meeting, with Paul dominating their head-to-head with a leading 2-0. Paul comes in after beating Ethan Quinn 6-1, 6-3, while Etcheverry defeated Terence Atmane 6-2, 7(7)-6(4).

Paul is known for his counter maneuvers, and great physical endurance has always allowed to him slide well and catch balls, which almost looks impossible to counter. If the American comes in with the same game plan, he can take the match in 3.

Casper Ruud vs Jenson Brooksby: (Ruud -700)

At the Geneva Open, Casper Ruud will meet America’s Jenson Brooksby for the third time after an equal head-to-head tie record of 1-1. Ruud comes in after a startling loss to Jannik Sinner at Rome, but has won the Geneva Open thrice back in 2021, 2022, and 2024. Brooksby also walks into Geneva with a loss to Alex Molcan, 6-2, 7-5, at the ATP Challenger Bordeaux.

If Ruud maintains good endurance alongside his elite tactical game plan, he should have no problem getting a straight-set win.

Magdalena Frech vs. Leylah Fernandez: (Fernandez -275)

Strasbourg will see a first-time clash between Magdalena Frech and Leylah Fernandez in the second round at Court Patrice Dominguez. While Fernandez comes in after defeating Leolia Jeanjean 6-1, 7-5, Frech beat Talia Gibson 7-6(0), 6-3. Fernandez holds a reasonable 7-5 record on clay in 2026.

While Frech holds great defensive prowess, Fernandez relies on her cross-court forehand. Being a lefty, Fernandez holds the advantage of shocking her opponents by shooting the ball in the opposite direction from what they are used to, and with her lightning-fast feet, she can win the match in 2.
