The sensational return of the legendary Serena Williams is in the making as the 23-time Grand Slam champion has requested wildcard entries for the upcoming Queen’s Club tournament on the grass courts. Having completed her mandatory six-month anti-doping protocol, the 44-year-old legend has startled the tennis world by signalling a grass-court return and is reportedly in talks to play a doubles bout, teaming up with a rising star.

Until four years back, the name Serena Williams sent shockwaves globally across tennis courts due to her sheer dominance and unparalleled spirit. She remained an undisputed force for several years and consistently was ranked No. 1, as she dominated her matches with her devastating serve. However, she has not played a professional match since losing to Ajla Tomljanović at the 2022 US Open.

As her return inches closer, former tennis player Andy Roddick took a shot at predicting the legend’s first stop on her return. During the latest episode of his digital show “Andy Roddick’s Served Media,” Roddick and his team discussed the potential entries that Williams could make, with a doubles matchup at the Queen’s Club Championships at the top. The reasoning behind the prediction was that the club event would be held in a grass court that would serve well for an athlete returning after a long time.

The other clue that the team hung on to is William’s anti-doping testing endeavor that she was on six to eight months back, which serves as a guarantee of contemplating a comeback, as an athlete would only choose to go through the protocol if they are serious about getting back in the game.

“As soon as you reenter doping protocols, you do that because you want the option of coming back,” said Roddick.

Williams’ partner is reportedly scheduled to be the 19-year-old Canadian sensation, Victoria Mboko, who is already riding high on success within the ITF circuits.

After a possible stint at the Queens Club event, Williams could voyage over to a WTA 250 event in England and could ultimately end up at Wimbledon.

Serena Williams Talks About Despising the Word “GOAT.”

Serena Williams spoke about not liking being called the Greatest of All Time (GOAT), despite being a renowned member of the club. During an interview, she highlighted how she never gave it a thought to see herself as the greatest, considering how many other notable people have walked past the world.

“Ofcourse not, there’s a lot fo GOATs out there, you know, who am I to say that I am. I never though about it, whether I liked it or not,” she said.

Despite her dislike for being called the greatest, Williams has successfully managed to solidify her place amongst the elites, and through a possible 2026 return, could further amplify her profile to new heights.
