Novak Djokovic’s Wife Jelena Shows How She Truly Reacted to 38 Y/O’s History-Making Win Over Jannik Sinner in Australian Open SF

Novak Djokovic’s wife, Jelena, used a fan’s video to reveal how she reacted to her husband’s epic five-set win over Jannik Sinner in the 2026 Australian Open semifinals. The Serb defeated the second seed 3-6, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in a match that lasted four hours and nine minutes on Friday, January 30.

Djokovic last won a Grand Slam title at the 2023 US Open and has been looking for his record 25th Major since then. However, the duopoly established by Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz has repeatedly stopped him, mostly at the last-four stage.

In the quarterfinals of the ongoing tournament, Djokovic lost the first two sets to Lorenzo Musetti and was leading 3-1 in the third when the Italian retired due to an injury. After this, not many saw the 38-year-old winning against two-time defending champion Sinner.

However, Djokovic fought back after losing two of the first three sets to reach his 11th Australian Open final. Jelena is not in Melbourne, but she shared a fan’s video, claiming that she celebrated the World No. 3’s win the same way. A video showed the fan watching the match at his home, and as soon as the last point was complete, he fell to his knees and roared in elation.

“This was me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣,” she wrote in her Instagram story.

Novak Djokovic (38 years, 241 days) surpassed Australia’s Ken Rosewall (37 years, 54 days) to become the oldest men’s singles finalist at the Australian Open.

“Hope I’ll Have Enough Gas” – Novak Djokovic On Facing Carlos Alcaraz in the Australian Open 2026 Final

Novak Djokovic will face World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz in the 2026 Australian Open final on Sunday, February 1. The Serb has so far played 10 finals in Melbourne and never lost. He is going for a record-extending 11th title Down Under, and a 25th overall.

Meanwhile, Alcaraz is looking to become the youngest male tennis player to complete a Career Grand Slam. In his semifinal clash with Alexander Zverev, the Spaniard took the first two sets, though he struggled with a leg issue towards the end of the second set. He played through pain and defeated the German 6-4, 7-6(5), 6-7(3), 6-7(4), 7-5 in the longest Australian Open semifinal.

After defeating Jannik Sinner on Friday, Djokovic said:

“I know I have to come back in less than a couple of days and fight the No. 1 in the world. I just hope that I’ll have enough gas to stay toe-to-toe with him. That’s my desire, then let the gods decide the winner.”

Djokovic leads the head-to-head 5-4 against Alcaraz. The Serb defeated the 22-year-old in last year’s quarterfinals in Melbourne.
