Novak Djokovic has delivered a rare reaction following American skiing legend Lindsey Vonn’s incredible downhill World Cup success in Zauchensee, Austria. Vonn, whose estimated net worth is $14 million (as per Celebrity Net Worth), had also emerged triumphant at the downhill World Cup in St. Moritz, Switzerland, in December last year. Her December 2025 victory helped her become the oldest downhill World Cup champion in skiing history, and her latest success made her break her own record.
In the aftermath of her triumph in Zauchensee, the 41-year-old Vonn took to her Instagram Stories and proudly shared a post to celebrate her latest stellar achievement in an illustrious career that has already seen her clinch Olympic gold in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics’ downhill event. Subsequently, former World No. 1 in men’s singles tennis and 24-time Major champion Novak Djokovic took notice of the post.
The Serb proceeded to share the post as an Instagram Story of his own, and laid bare his emphatic reaction to the American’s success in Austria, writing:
“So good 🙏🙌👏”

Vonn continues to inspire not just the world with her persisting success in elite skiing, but also Djokovic, who himself used to be a skiing enthusiast back in his childhood days. Last year, at the Wimbledon Championships, the Serb briefly touched on how Vonn was among the few names that he had gotten in touch with to learn about her experience of recovering from knee surgery. This stemmed from the former No. 1 undergoing knee surgery himself to participate at the prestigious grass Major last year.
Lindsey Vonn named Novak Djokovic ‘the GOAT’ in 2024
In March 2024, Vonn and Djokovic met and spent some time together in Las Vegas. Before the meet, the American skiing legend had inadvertently stirred controversy by naming the Serb’s yesteryear rival, Roger Federer, as the ‘forever GOAT’, which irked many Djokovic loyalists.
However, in the aftermath of her meet-and-greet with the Serb in Las Vegas, Vonn took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote:
“Hanging with the goat, and yes, I do believe he is the goat. Contrary to twitter beliefs, I think there can be more than one. But @DjokerNole holds the records and I have nothing but respect for what he’s achieved… and he skis!”
On the tennis front, Djokovic is set to mark his maiden competitive outing of the 2026 season directly at the Australian Open following his withdrawal from the Adelaide International.
