Naomi Osaka may be known for making statements with her tennis racket, but she is also known for her fashion choices and surely knows how to appreciate a bold statement in fashion. Team Haiti’s newly unveiled uniforms for the 2026 Winter Olympics certainly caught her attention.
Osaka, who also has Haitian heritage, was last seen in action at the Australian Open. After delivering impressive performances in the first two rounds, she pulled out from the third round against Maddison Inglis, citing an abdominal injury. She is currently gearing up for her upcoming tournament.
Amid this, she took to Instagram to react to the vibrant designs created by acclaimed fashion designer Stella Jean for Haiti’s Winter Olympic delegation. The uniforms were revealed earlier this week and are a blend of Haitian culture and winter sportswear functionality.
The designer, who is herself of Haitian and Italian heritage, made the outfit with bold tropical prints, rich greens and blues, and artistic depictions of Haiti’s natural beauty. The women’s outfit includes a voluminous skirt-style ensemble adorned with colorful foliage and a hand-painted a riderless red horse on a puffer skirt and a traditional Haitian tignon headwrap.
Impressed with the outfit, Naomi Osaka shared a picture of it on her Instagram story and penned a two-word reaction that read:
“Yes ma’am.”

Naomi Osaka Shut Down Critics of Her Australian Open Outfit
Naomi Osaka showed her fashion sense at the Australian Open during the first-round entrance. She wore jellyfish-inspired attire, which made waves all over the internet. Even though her outfit was loved by all her fans, it also garnered some criticism. Some trolls on the internet called her outfit ‘classless,’ which didn’t sit right with the Japanese player.
The former World No. 1 did not fall short in taking a jab at the haters, as she penned a strong and bold message on Threads. Unbothered with what the critics had to say about her outfit, she wrote:
“There’s a demographic that’s been talking about ‘traditional’ tennis outfits and calling me classless for what I wear. To be honest I see it for what it is. I don’t do this for them though, they will never get it and I don’t want them to. I do this for the people that are like me.”
Naomi Osaka opened her 2026 season at the United Cup, where she won her opening round against Emma Raducanu, who pulled out due to a fitness issue. The Japanese is expected to compete next at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, which will begin on Feb. 15.
