“Jannik Sinner Lives Rent Free In Courier’s Head” – Fans Slam American After French Open Final Time Violation Shade

Italian tennis sensation Jannik Sinner continues to receive backlash despite having exited from Roland Garros a while back, this time receiving heat from former World No. 1 Jim Courier. Courier commentated on the Paris finale matchup between Alexander Zverev and Flavio Cobolli, and while watching Zverev getting a time violation, the American was quick to blast the administration for not doing the same with Sinner.

Roland Garros 2026 was an affair to remember, and it witnessed some of the top-tier players exit early. However, a few from the list had managed to leave behind tales that have now been reignited as controversial, such as Jannik Sinner’s extensive medical timeout during his second-round match against Juan Manuel Cerundolo. The Italian took an injury break to recover from cramps during the clash, and allegedly appeared to have exceeded the time limits allowed for recovery.

He was not issued a shot clock violation, but was greeted by the umpire on the court and, after a brief conversation with Sinner, handed the Italian a medical timeout — a decision blasted by other players and Jim Courier. Sinner eventually came back after a while but ultimately lost the match and had to bid goodbye to the French Open.

Something similar had happened during yesterday’s final, where Zverev started to struggle physically during the fourth set and, unfortunately, went past the approved time limit and ultimately received a shot clock violation. Courier compared this to that of Sinner’s and said,

“It’s rich irony that Zverev got a time violation [when feeling discomfort] and Sinner didn’t.”

Fans have, however, quickly defended the Italian star, pointing out how Courier’s comments are unnecessary when the Italian has already lost the match.

    One user wrote:

“Does he get paid per Sinner mention? It’s been 10 days bruh, move on and watch the final.”

    Another wrote:

“Oh give it a rest Jim your biased views are starting to grate on peoples nerves.”

    Someone wrote:

“Here it is another tennis champion envy of Sinner….”

    One more user responded, writing:

“Dear Jim they called this obsession. He has already won more than you did so relax.”

Jannik Sinner is currently in preparation to defend his Wimbledon title, which will be scheduled for a fortnight between Monday, June 29, and Sunday, July 12.

Jannik Sinner Talks About His Medical Condition During Roland Garros

Jannik Sinner managed to address the concerns regarding his second-round collapse, which he said happened due to dehydration, accompanied by dizziness and low energy. During his press conference, he highlighted the issue in detail:

“I didn’t feel very well on court. I struggled, started to feel very dizzy, very low of energy. Tried to serve it out but didn’t have a lot of energy, fourth set I let it go, but didn’t have energy,” said Sinner.

It remains to be seen if Sinner has laid out a medical plan to counter unexpected physical collapses for the upcoming Wimbledon Championships.
