Emma Raducanu’s team recently denied the speculations surrounding her injury after she was spotted in a grey immobilization boot at Wimbledon. Despite the confirmation, the news has raised injury doubts surrounding the Brit just before the Grand Slam.
Raducanu’s latest outing came at the HSBC Championships, where she produced a commanding performance, advancing to the finals. She beat Sorana Cirstea, Anna Blinkova, Kamilla Rakhimova, and Iva Jovic to reach the final round. Here, she faced off against Donna Vekic, who delivered a dominant performance over the 23-year-old, claiming a 6-0, 7-6(6) win and lifting the trophy.
After the tournament, Raducanu was expected to compete at the Nottingham Open but reportedly withdrew to better manage her tournament schedule ahead of Wimbledon. As she continues her preparations for the Grand Slam, she was spotted at Aorangi Park, Wimbledon’s warm-up area, on Wednesday, June 24, wearing a grey immobilization boot. Reportedly, according to CLAY, she also did not train that day.
The sight of the Brit in the boot quickly sparked concerns over her participation at Wimbledon. However, her team soon eased those fears, confirming that she is scheduled to return to practice on Thursday and is doing absolutely fine.
“Emma is absolutely fine. She will play tomorrow,” said one of her team officials.
Despite her team’s confirmation, injury doubts have been making rounds on the internet. One of the fans wrote on X:

Emma Raducanu made her feelings known about her HSBC Championships loss
Emma Raducanu put together an impressive run at the HSBC Championships but fell short to Donna Vekic in the final. Speaking to media after the match, the Brit reflected on the defeat. While she admitted she couldn’t produce the same level of tennis in the final that she had throughout the tournament, she also said she was proud of her overall performance and the way she competed all week.
Expressing her disappointment over the loss, Raducanu said:
“The performances I had this week, I played really well. I was able to play and dictate, and that’s something I wasn’t able to do [in the final]. I managed to get myself back into the second set, and I’m proud of how I fought. That’s not something that in the past years I’ve always done, so that’s a positive. This week is something that deserves to be celebrated,” Raducanu continued. “It’s a good achievement for me and I’m proud of it. But right now, it really stings, so I’m going to let myself feel that disappointment today and then try to move on from it quickly,” said Emma Raducanu.
“This week has been incredibly special. Playing at home is a feeling like no other. I was in awe of the atmosphere and the support I received throughout the tournament. Even though I knew I was playing at home, I still couldn’t quite believe it.”
