Serena Williams posted photos from her rehab session on her social media on Wednesday, which had a surprise element that left many stunned. The 23-time Grand Slam winner was seen wearing a Novak Djokovic-branded knee sleeve during an indoor conditioning session to support her rehabilitation process.
Novak Djokovic has partnered with a medical-tech brand, Incrediwear, and has released a therapeutic wearable knee sleeve collection that comes with the Serb’s signature personal logo on the fabric.
Williams posted photos of her knee injury rehabilitation process on her Instagram and shared a couple of photos where the 23-time Grand Slam winner can be seen going through her routine-based workouts along with her medical coach. In one of the photos where Williams is seen in a squatted position leaning against a medicine ball, the distinct logo, containing a stylized version of the letter “D” of Djokovic’s, can be seen emblazoned on the knee sleeve.
As per Incrediwear, the technology used in these specific knee sleeves is said to be next-gen, which accelerates progress by focusing on recovery at the cellular level.
Williams suffered a knee injury during her first-round match at Wimbledon against Maya Joints, who beat the returning legend in three sets.
Novak Djokovic Hails Serena Williams As An Inspiration
Novak Djokovic was all praise when the 23-time Grand Slam winner accepted the final singles wild card from Wimbledon. The Serbian had credited Williams during his pre-tournament press conference for being an inspiration to many and also admitted that he had also been inspired by her story.
“What she’s doing is inspirational, and it’s epic. That’s what I told her. I always admired her career.”
Despite her first-round loss to Maya Joints at the All England Club, Djokovic urged many not to look at how Williams performed on the scoreboard but at what she has accomplished since making a return after four years.
Both Djokovic and Williams are considered legends of the game and hold multiple singles titles, along with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
Williams has reportedly decided to make a comeback soon for the hard-court season and is expected to play at the Toronto Open.
