Husband Alexis Ohanian Consoles Serena Williams With Emotional Message; Naomi Osaka Sends Her Love After Wimbledon Heartbreak

Serena Williams received a heartfelt message from her husband, Alexis Ohanian, after her early upset at the Wimbledon Championships. Naomi Osaka also penned a sweet note for Williams following the defeat.

Williams made one of the most anticipated comebacks at Wimbledon, returning to the singles draw after a nearly four-year break. She opened her campaign on June 30 against Maya Joint but was unable to progress, with her opponent securing a 6-3, 6-7(8), 6-3 win.

Following the loss, Ohanian shared an emotional note for the 44-year-old, exuding pride in her. Taking to Instagram, he posted a series of photos of their daughters watching Williams compete from the stands. The post also featured Olympia and Adira Ohanian holding handmade signs in support of their mother. The Reddit co-founder penned an emotional note in the caption that read:

“Our little family is so proud of you @serenawilliams – even though it wasn’t the outcome you wanted, you’re an inspiration. We love you. @olympiaohanian @adiraohanian are also happy they got to stay up a bit past their bedtime 😏”

Along with Ohanian, the tennis world also shared their reactions. Taking to Instagram Threads, Osaka shared a sweet message for the Williams sisters that read:

“I really wonder if Serena and Venus know how much they mean to us.”

Serena Williams opened up about her mindset ahead of Wimbledon comeback

Before facing Maya Joint, Serena Williams spoke with ESPN’s Malika Andrews, where she made her feelings known about returning to the All England Club. Reflecting on her mindset ahead of her comeback, she revealed whether she felt nervous before opening her campaign, saying:

“As of now I am not nervous. You know my expectations here is to just take it easy, to be calm and to have fun, which is something historically I have never done, but in a good way. I think my intensity and my passion is always great. But I never was just like, ‘let’s just have fun,'” said Serena Williams.

Serena Williams is now all set to compete in the doubles event alongside her sister, Venus Williams. They are scheduled to meet Solana Sierra and Camilla Osorio in the first round on July 2.
