“Gonna Embarrass Himself So Badly In Front Of Serena Williams” – Fans Shocked By Carlos Alcaraz Partnership Rumors For US Open

Carlos Alcaraz and Serena Williams are expected to make a team for the upcoming mixed doubles exhibition at the 2026 US Open. Fans are shocked with this update, sharing their mixed thoughts on this potential partnership on social media.

Alcaraz is currently sidelined with a right-wrist injury, which ruled him out of the French Open and Wimbledon. He was last seen in action at the Barcelona Open, where he sustained the injury on April 14 during his opening round clash against Otto Virtanen. He managed to win the first round; however, he withdrew from his second round showdown against Tomas Machac due to the injury.

After several MRI scans, it was revealed that he was suffering from a severe right-wrist tenosynovitis. He skipped various tournaments, including the Madrid Open, the Italian Open, the French Open, Queen’s Club, and Wimbledon. Currently, his recovery is under progress, and he is making headlines for his potential team-up with Serena Williams, who made a comeback to tennis after almost four years of retirement.

The American’s first appearance was at the HSBC Championships doubles, which abruptly came to an end after her partner Victoria Mboko suffered from a knee injury. Now, the tennis world is worked up after the news of her pairing with the Spaniard. One of the users on X shared this news writing:

“According to angelo mangiante, discussions are ongoing for the us open mixed doubles event, with organizers hoping to pair carlos alcaraz with serena williams. nothing has been confirmed yet.”

    The news of their pairing

This drew shocked reactions from fans online, as one of them said that the World No. 2 was going to embarrass himself in front of Williams.

“Carlos is gonna embarrass himself so badly in front of serena if that mixed dubs shit is real hwjhwhjw.”

Another follower vouching for this partnership wrote:

“God please make this happen PLEASE.”

Sharing their opinion of Alcaraz focusing just on the US Open defense and not on the exhibition match, one of the users on X penned:

“His team should say NO to this, prioritizing his wrist. He should not risk anything with a pointless exhibition match, the US Open defence is what his team should be only focusing on.”

On the contrary, delighted with the news, one of the fans commented:

“That would be wonderful and very fun.”

Along with Alcaraz and Williams, rumors of the pairing of Jannik Sinner and Venus Williams are also going viral online.

What did Carlos Alcaraz say about his injury and his withdrawal from Wimbledon?

After suffering the wrist injury at the Barcelona Open and going through several scans, Carlos Alcaraz shared a heartfelt message on Instagram. He shared his recovery progress, stating that he was not in the position to compete and will be withdrawing from his grass-court swings.

Making his feelings known about withdrawing from Wimbledon, he wrote:

“My recovery is going well and I’m feeling much better, but unfortunately I’m still not ready to compete, which is why I have to withdraw from the grass-court swing at Queen’s and Wimbledon. They are two truly special tournaments for me and I will miss them a lot. We’ll keep working to come back as soon as possible!” wrote Carlos Alcaraz.

Before getting injured, Carlos Alcaraz nabbed three titles, including the Australian Open, Qatar Open, and the Monte-Carlo Masters.
