Coco Gauff’s First Stuttgart Opponent Revealed: Schedule, How To Watch, & Live Streaming Details

World No. 3 Coco Gauff is set to resume play on the WTA circuit at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, Germany, on Wednesday. After receiving a bye in the first round, the 22-year-old will begin her campaign at the WTA 500 event against Russia’s Liudmila Samsonova in the round of 16. This will be Gauff’s first tournament of the claycourt swing as she aims to defend a staggering number of ranking points this season.

Previously, the two-time Grand Slam champion produced a strong run at the Miami Open, reaching the final but losing to World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka. That decent finish to the Sunshine Double only reaffirmed her standing as a credible player on tour who cannot only contest for big titles but even win them.

Gauff is projected to seal an easy win against Samsonova on Wednesday and progress to the quarterfinal, where she could face her first stern test against Karolina Muchova, who has endured a brilliant run in some of the WTA events this season.

In the semifinals, the American could square off against Elina Svitolina or Paula Badosa and subsequently face any of the top seeds from the other half of the main draw, including Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina, Mirra Andreeva, Jasmine Paolini, or defending champion Jelena Ostapenko.
