The main draw of the 2026 Australian Open was announced on Thursday, January 15, and all the players learned their probable path to the final at the end of two weeks, including Coco Gauff and Eva Lys in the women’s singles.
While the majority of the players would be pondering the draw and strategizing against their probable opponents in different rounds, Gauff and Lys decided to let loose and enjoy themselves on a beautiful Thursday night. They attended American rapper, singer, and songwriter Amine’s Melbourne concert.
Both players shared some moments from the lively night on social media. Gauff shared a video excerpt from the concert, showing the rapper performing on stage. In contrast, Lys shared a backstage picture on her Instagram story, in which she could be seen alongside the American rapper and the two-time Grand Slam champion.

Both players represented their respective countries at the recent United Cup during the Australian swing. They will aim to bring that positive energy from the warm-up event to the Australian Open, which starts on Sunday, January 18.
Coco Gauff Will be Aiming to Break the Semifinal Curse at the Australian Open 2026
The World No. 3 won the 2025 Roland Garros and, before that, the 2023 US Open, but her best result at the Australian Open remains a semifinal appearance in 2024.
The 21-year-old American will aim to break the semifinal curse in Melbourne, where she could meet World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, who defeated her at the same stage in 2024.
Should Gauff manage to get past the Belarusian, she could face some of the big names in the bottom half of the draw, such as Iga Swiatek, Amanda Anisimova, or Elena Rybakina, among others.
Gauff is set to face Kamilla Rakhimova in the opening round on Sunday, while Lys will be squaring off against Sorana Cirstea in the first round of the Australian Open.
Also, Gauff could face tennis icon Venus Williams in the second round.
