Among the proudest voices cheering him on was his younger brother, Jaime Alcaraz, who reacted emotionally to the Spaniard’s latest milestone at the season’s first Grand Slam.

    Alcaraz faced Alexander Zverev in the semifinals of the Australian Open on January 29, 2026, at the Rod Laver Arena. It was a tight five-hour contest in which both players delivered strong performances. The first two sets were dominated by Alcaraz (6-4, 7-6(5)), and then his opponent controlled the next two sets (7-6(3), 7-6(4)); however, the Spaniard gathered momentum in the fifth set and secured his place in the finals.

    Following this victory, Alcaraz’s younger brother, Jaime, took to social media to share his admiration for Carlos’ display. He posted a celebratory message that highlighted both pride and belief in his brother’s journey.

    Taking to his Instagram story, he reshared a post with the match’s final statistics, declaring the Spaniard as the finalist, and penned a sweet message in Spanish that read:

    Carlos Alcaraz Opened Up About How He Won The Semifinal Despite Struggling Amid The Match

    After delivering a dominant performance in the Australian Open semifinal, Carlos Alcaraz reflected on his victory during the on-court interview, opening up about his clash against Alexander Zverev. When asked about his strategy and how he managed to secure the win despite facing difficulties in the middle of the match, the world no. 1 emphasized the importance of self-belief.

    Alcaraz explained that he trusted himself throughout the contest, noting that he had been in similar situations before and that maintaining faith in one’s game is the only way to navigate such moments.

    Calling it one of the most ‘demanding’ matches he has played in his career, he said: (0:15 onwards)

    “Believe all the time. I think I always say that you have to believe in yourself no matter what. No matters what you struggling you you’ve been through. No matter anything you you still or you got to still believing in yourself all the time. I was struggling in the middle of the third set. You know it’s physically it was one of the most demanding matches that I have ever played in my short career, I would say but I’ve been in this kind of situations I’ve been this kind of matches before so I knew what I had to do,” said Carlos Alcaraz.
    He added:

    “I had to put my heart into the match. I think I did it. I fought until the last ball. I knew that I was going to have my chances. I was passion you know, in the fifth set, but just extremely proud that about myself the way that I fought and the way that I came back in the fifth set.”

    In the 2025 Australian Open, Carlos Alcaraz fell to Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals, with the latter winning 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4.
