“So Lame, So Disappointed”; “Not A Sore Loser” – Carlos Alcaraz Gets Mixed Reaction From Fans For All-Smiles Press Conference After Monte-Carlo Loss

Carlos Alcaraz suffered a heartbreaking loss in the Monte Carlo Masters final and, as a result, also tumbled one place in the ATP rankings. His rival Jannik Sinner won his third straight Masters title and snatched the World No. 1 rank from the Spaniard. Sinner won the match in straight sets, and Alcaraz failed to defend his title.

Alcaraz attended a post-game press conference, where he was seen entering the venue and taking his seat with a huge smile on his face. Many fans online noticed the Spaniard’s reactions ahead of the press conference, voicing mixed reactions on X.

Some fans were quick to call out Alcaraz’s questionable reaction after failing to defend his Monte Carlo title and expressed their disappointment.

“So lame, so disappointed in him. Being nice is one thing. Being a soft competitor is another,” one fan commented.

“He’ll stop laughing when he starts to realize that if he keeps playing as badly as he did today, he’ll be out in the round of 16, let alone the final,” another fan commented.

“This is beyond embarrassing when Nole and Nadal used to lose, they never laughed like this coz they valued themselves. This guy is a total simp for Sinner. If he continues like this, he will become the biggest what-if in tennis. Now it’s obvious he will never surpass Nole as the goat,” yet another fan commented.

    Some other fans defended Alcaraz.

“He isn’t a sore loser. Losing a close one to Sinner isn’t something to cry about. He is surely disappointed, but the tennis wasn’t there today, but he had chances. This week was a bounce back from IW and Miami. He played some good matches, and he’s building into RG,” one fan commented.

He’s human, he has feelings. @carlosalcaraz is still a champion; at any moment, his magic comes out, and he flips the script. You’re one of a kind, Carlitos, another fan commented.

“He’s laughing his a** off because he knows the true prize is Roland Garros. After he lost to Sinner at Wimbledon, he made the necessary adjustments to defeat Jannik at the US Open. I have no doubt he does the same here. Sinner slappies can have these measly masters titles,” yet another fan commented.

Carlos Alcaraz Will Aim to Redeem His Monte Carlo Loss in Barcelona

Alcaraz is a two-time Barcelona Open champion and will aim to win the title back this year after losing in Monte Carlo. The Spaniard knows the turf well, and the event couldn’t have come at a better time for the World No. 2, who will be playing his maiden ATP tournament on home soil.

Alcaraz will commence his campaign at the ATP 500 event in Barcelona against Finland’s Otto Virtanen in the round of 32 on Tuesday. The other top seeds in the event include Lorenzo Musetti, Alex de Minaur, Karen Khachanov, and Andrey Rublev, against all of whom the Spaniard has a clear advantage in the head-to-head battle.
