Coco Gauff is the latest celebrity to share their thoughts on Christopher Nolan’s latest epic, ‘The Odyssey.’ The film was released on July 17 and stars Matt Damon as Odysseus alongside a star-studded cast, including Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, and Himesh Patel.
Following her semifinal heartbreak at Wimbledon, Gauff took herself to the theatre and left it full of praise for the film. She shared the film’s poster on her Instagram stories and left the following 1-word reaction:
“Amazing.”

According to early reviews, Nolan’s first film, using IMAX film cameras, has attracted a 96% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes. According to Deadline, the film’s preview night takings on Thursday sailed to $17.6 million, the best preview night number of 2026 to date, surpassing Toy Story 5’s $17.5M.
The film is about the legendary journey of Odysseus, who is trying to get home to Ithaca after the Trojan War. In between, he faces mythical creatures and challenges.
Meanwhile, this was not the first time the American tennis star left an opinion on a Hollywood film.
Coco Gauff Once Shared Scary Review For Horror Movie
Before praising Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, Coco Gauff had quite the opposite reaction after she watched the horror film Weapons by herself during the Cincinnati Open in August 2025.
Gauff, who admitted to screaming while watching, left the theatre quite disturbed, stressed, and traumatized. What made it even scarier was having to drive alone at night. The absolutely creepy experience made her say that she will never drive in Ohio alone again.
“The other day, I went to the movies and saw Weapons, which is a scary movie,” Gauff said. “I don’t recommend seeing scary movies alone. And then having to drive back in the middle of the night in the middle of Ohio doesn’t help either. So I don’t know if I’ll do that again.
“Yeah, I went by myself, which was fine. It sounded like a good idea, and then I was in the parking lot, which was basically empty. And then the movie was scary, and I was just like, ‘Then there’s nobody on the road in Ohio after like 10 PM, so why do I do this?’ So I don’t recommend that.”
Previously, Gauff watched the Challengers (2024) and called it a “really well-done movie.”
It seems Gauff likes watching movies and isn’t afraid of sharing her reaction to them publicly.
