After suffering an early exit at the Bitpanda Hamburg Open, Ben Shelton has now kickstarted his French Open run on May 25, 2026. He locked horns with Daniel Merida Aguilar in the opening round, where he produced a significant performance, claiming a 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 victory. With this win, he is now scheduled to compete against Raphael Collignon in the second round on May 27.
Amid this, his girlfriend, who could not travel to Paris due to her work commitments, has been cheering the loudest. Taking to her Instagram story, she posted a picture of Shelton from his match and made her feelings known about his new kit. Dropping a three-word reaction to his purple and white ombre-colored kit, she wrote:

In addition to this, she also showed off a loving gesture from the player’s side, as he showered her with love by sending her a bunch of roses from Paris amid his ongoing tournament. Sharing a picture of the sweet gesture, she wrote:

Responding to this, she said that they understand each other, and they help each other mentally. Talking about how they push each other during injuries and keep each other happy, she said:
“I think it’s understanding each other and just the mental aspect of it. I think it’s extremely mentally and obviously physically, but the mental, I think is harder to control. You can power through little nicks and injuries, but if your mind’s not right, it’s harder to push through that,” said Ben Shelton’s girlfriend.
She added:
“So I think we do a really good job of keeping each other very happy, obviously, and then just taking what we have and feeling what we need to feel because I think there are those weeks where it’s like. You’re sad and you feel like you can’t be, but in reality it’s OK. I had a hard week. You feel it, move on, and we’re really good at understanding and working with each other through that. So I would say that was the biggest help being with him and how we move forward.”
While Ben Shelton is busy with his French Open campaign, Trinity Rodman was last seen in the field on May 16, where she played in a 2-1 loss against San Diego Wave FC.
