Ben Shelton’s girlfriend, Trinity Rodman, shared an excited reaction to fellow countrywoman Sophia Wilson rejoining the USWNT squad after 2024, following the birth of her daughter, Gigi. Wilson and Rodman have been teammates on the USWNT since 2022, but they play for different NWSL clubs.
Rodman plays for the Washington Spirit and became the highest-earning women’s soccer player worldwide after signing her latest contract extension in January. Wilson has been the star No. 9 striker for the Portland Thorns since she was drafted by the club in 2020.
After being off the field for almost 15 months due to pregnancy and rearing her newborn, Wilson will now be rejoining the national squad for the April camp. Rodman shared the news of Wilson’s comeback on her Instagram story, captioning it:
“My queen is back!!”

Rodman is a highly active social media personality who never shies away from hyping up and voicing support for their loved ones. She has always been by Shelton’s side during important tournaments, with her most recent player’s box appearance at the Dallas Open, where the American pro triumphed handsomely.
Now, Shelton is playing his first claycourt event of the season in Houston and kicked off the proceedings on a high note after defeating Zhang Zhizhen in the round of 16. The World No. 9 will be aiming to win his second ATP title of the season after a disappointing Sunshine Double.
Ben Shelton to Face Thiago Agustin Tirante in the Houston Open QF
The No. 1 seed will now face Argentina’s Thiago Agustin Tirante in the quarterfinals of the Houston Open on Thursday. Shelton previously won the event in 2024 and is therefore well-versed in the playing style and intensity required to win the ATP 250-level tournament again.
Post Houston, Shelton will skip the Monte Carlo Masters and play the BMW Open by Bitpanda in Munich, Germany, before headlining a star-studded field for the Mutua Madrid Open, starting April 20.
