American tennis star Ben Shelton was joined by his girlfriend, Trinity Rodman, following his win in the Dallas Open. Shelton defeated fellow American Taylor Fritz in the final 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 to win the 2026 Nexo Dallas Open title on Sunday in Frisco, Texas.
Dallas Open’s official Instagram account shared a post-match celebration between the lovebirds. Rodman kisses Shelton as both hold the trophy.
It was a thrilling final, which saw Shelton save three championship points against Fritz. It was Shelton’s fourth ATP Tour title and his first ATP 500 trophy. It was also his first title on an indoor hard court.
“It feels amazing. I thank God, because I needed something super natural to end up winning this tournament with all the holes that I was in,” Shelton said via ATP Tour. “I feel grateful to play five matches out here with these crowds. The energy was amazing.
“I had to fight until the last minute. Fritz was playing very good tennis and I was struggling a lot with what he was throwing at me. I tried to be a competitor through and through, and I ended up coming out on top. I think it’s a testament to the work me and my team put in.”
Ben Shelton’s Incredible Valentine’s Day Victory, Giving a Shout-Out to GF Trinity Rodman
Ben Shelton has called Trinity Rodman her lucky charm, as whenever the soccer star has turned up for the semifinals involving Shelton, the American has emerged victorious. It happened in the Dallas Open semifinals as well when Shelton defeated defending champion Denis Shapovalov.
“This is the second tournament that my girlfriend has shown up on the semi-finals day,” Shelton said. “I’m 2-0 in semis when she shows up for that, so happy Valentine’s Day!”
Shelton and Rodman have been dating each other since March last year. They went Instagram official after the American pro posted a cozy elevator selfie. Rodman also dropped hints, reaffirming that the two are indeed in love.
Rodman also joined Shelton at Wimbledon and was there in the stands in Flushing Meadows for his US Open campaign. Meanwhile, Shelton has also been present at Rodman’s games for the Washington Spirit in NWSL. On the occasion of new year, Rodman called Shelton her “soulmate.”
