Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, shared a wholesome reaction to NBA player Giannis Antetokounmpo’s trade from the Milwaukee Bucks to the Miami Heat. After a year of rooting for this trade, the former co-founder of Reddit congratulated the player with a special message.
While Williams is busy training for the Wimbledon Championships, Ohanian is celebrating the trade of Antetokounmpo to Miami. On June 22, 2026, the Bucks officially agreed to trade the two-time NBA MVP to the Heat after a 13-month partnership. Following this development, Ohanian, who publicly wished for the move 401 days earlier, marked the occasion with a series of heartfelt social media posts welcoming the player to the new team.
In May 2025, Antetokounmpo expressed his admiration for Florida cities during a fan Q&A session on X, which appears to have since been deleted, after a fan asked which city, apart from his hometown, made him the happiest. Ohanian then quickly shared his wish for the superstar to join Miami, writing:
“Lots of space for big families down here my friend.”
A little over a year later, Ohanian’s wish has finally come true, and he couldn’t have been happier. Sharing his feelings over the move, he reposted the news on his Instagram story and wrote:
“What a run in MIL. The best is yet to come, my friend. Welcome to Miami!!!”

He also reacted to Antetokounmpo’s message on X:
“GOD, I trusted you at the beginning, and I will continue to trust you throughout.🙏🏻💯”
Resharing the post, Ohanian tweeted on X:
Ohanian reportedly serves as an informal investment mentor to Antetokounmpo, and they have invested in several projects together, including sports trading card company Alt, Women’s Super League team Chelsea FC Women, and more.

He also added a clip on X of him at the John Paul Jones Arena, speaking about the motivation for investing in women’s sports.
