Ben Shelton celebrated Valentine’s Day with girlfriend Trinity Rodman after sealing the finals berth at the Dallas Open on Saturday night. Rodman was in attendance at center court to witness the tournament No. 2 seed take down a difficult opponent in Denis Shapovalov in three sets to reach the summit clash.
While Rodman celebrated Shelton’s semifinal win, the 23-year-old rising tennis star voiced his gratitude toward her for being in attendance for the match and also wished her a very happy Valentine’s Day during the on-court interview.
“The energy was sick in here. And second, this is the second tournament that my girlfriend has showed up on the semifinals day. I’m 2-0, I’m 2-0 in semis when she shows up for that, so happy Valentine’s Day,” Shelton said.
After leaving the venue, Shelton and Rodman spent some quality time together to celebrate the special day, which was made more joyous by the hard-hitting lefty’s semifinal win. The Washington Spirit star shared a passionate moment with the ATP pro on her Instagram story, where the happy couple could be witnessed sharing an intimate kiss.

After a successful day on Saturday, Shelton will aim to carry the positive momentum into Sunday’s all-American summit clash against Taylor Fritz at the Dallas Open.

After beating Shapovalov, Shelton looked toward his players’ box where Rodman was sitting alongside his father and coach Bryan Shelton. In their ongoing hilarious back-and-forth, Rodman immediately went with her iconic goal celebration dance move, as Shelton first shied away but then partially mimicked her moves, making it an endearing sight for tennis fans.
Shelton had a disappointing run during the Australian swing but will now hope to seal his first ATP 500 win of the season and climb in the rankings before heading to Acapulco for the Mexican Open (ATP 500) as the fourth seed.
