The 2026 Australian Open is fast approaching, and some notable names on the men’s circuit are gearing up to compete for the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup, which will come along with a mouthwatering prize money of AUD 4.15 million. Currently, most of the players are busy preparing for the first Major of the year by headlining various warm-up events in the Australian swing.
The official seeds for the upcoming Grand Slam in men’s singles are here. Six-time Major champion Carlos Alcaraz is the No. 1 seed, as he had a phenomenal 2025 season, winning two Majors and three ATP 1000 events.
The other half of the ‘Sincaraz’ rivalry, Jannik Sinner, is the second seed, who also won two Grand Slams in 2025, alongside the year-end Nitto ATP Finals and other notable events on tour. Germany’s Alexander Zverev, 28, is seeded third for the tournament despite a lacklustre 2025 season, which saw him win only one ATP 500 event.
24-time Grand Slam champion and one of the greatest to have ever played the sport, Novak Djokovic, is the fourth seed. He reached the semifinals of all four Grand Slams last year and won two ATP 250 events on the ATP circuit.
Then comes the highly aspirational Italian Lorenzo Musetti, followed by the Australian No. 1 Alex de Minaur as the sixth seed. Rounding up the top 10 are Felix Auger-Aliassime (7th), Ben Shelton (8th), Taylor Fritz (9th), and Alexander Bublik (10th).
Other Notable Seeds in Men’s Singles For the 2026 Australian Open
Greek star who was once touted as a dominant force in men’s tennis, Stefanos Tsitsipas is seeded 30th, just below Frances Tiafoe, while first cousins Arthur Rinderknech and Valentin Vacherot are seeded 24th and 31st, respectively. The Australian Open main draw begins at Melbourne Park on January 18.
